Chippenham Swimming Clubs Presentation Night

Lady Mayor Sylvia Gibson presented the awards at Chippenham Swimming Club awards night on Friday (17th Jan).

The event celebrated the Club's success in 2013 and trophies were presented to winners of Club championship races. Some of the trophies date from the 1930's, each new addition adding to Chippenham's long and successful history

Highlight of the night was the presentation of the ASA Volunteer Coach of the Year Award (South West Region) to Nigel Butler.
Butler has been Head Coach for more than 10 years and this award recognised the amount of work Butler puts into ensure the Club continues its success in the pool.

In 2013 the Club once again achieved medal success at County and Regional level, and continued to compete successfully in the Wilts Winter and Summer leagues. At national level Matt Hare competed for Wilts in the National County Championships

In 2013 the Club joined the ASA Young Volunteer scheme to support swimmers in obtaining experience and qualifications to stay in swimming as coaches, teachers or officials. The young volunteers attend courses and work poolside with coaches and teachers, helping younger swimmers continue the clubs success.

The Club also continues to actively support the Wilts Disability Swimming Squad which meets monthly in Devizes.

The Club welcomes new swimmers and volunteers, more information can be found at http://www.chippenhamasc.org.uk/club/membership
