Wiltshire County Sprint Day

Chippenham had a large team of 32 swimmers who qualified and swam at the Wiltshire County Sprint Day on Sunday 10th July at Milton Road, Swindon.

It was an amazingly successful day with Chippenham bringing home a total of 44 medals (13 golds, 11 silver and 10 bronze), over the different age groups.
Chippenham had swimmers who placed in the junior championship (aged 15 and under). They won a total of 10 medals (3 gold - Junior champions, 1 silver, 2 bronze, 2 fourth places, 1 fifth place and 1 sixth place).
For the overall Championship, the fastest 5 competitors (regardless of age) swam again for a chance to win the Championship in that stroke. Chippenham were strongly represented in the 8 championship races. The swimmers were rewarded with 1 gold medal and championship title, 4 silver medals, 3 bronze medals, 2 fourth places and 5 fifth places.

A very rewarding day, well done to all swimmers.

Newsflash

We need more licensed officials to run events and to complete behind the scenes roles. Why not start to train as an official? Its not as daunting as you think. Most of the training is done on pool side at a pace that suites you. Join a Judge 1 course to see what it is all about. Questions? If you are a parent of a CASC swimmer and have an hour or two to spare each week please contact a member of the committee either on poolside or via the 'contact us' link above as we are always looking for help from committed parents. Support is welcome both on poolside and behind the scenes with club administration / management functions.
