Swindon Swim Squad low level 4 invitational development open meet
Chippenham ASC had 5 children competing in 26 races in the Swindon Swim Squad open meet held at the Link Centre, Swindon on Sunday 17th April.
The team - aged between 8 and 10 were;
Paige Lavelle, Alisha Birkett, Beth McFadzean, Holly Parker and James Wrench.
It was the first open meet for 2 of the swimmers and everyone swam well gaining lots of PB's. Each PB entitled the swimmer to a free lolly which kept them all happy! Also there were medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and ribbons for 4th, 5th and 6th in each age group. We won a total of 4 Bronze medals, two 4th place ribbons, two 5th place ribbons and two 6th place ribbons.
Paige and James placed in the top six in their age group in every race, a great achievement.
Well done to all swimmers.
Newsflash
We need more licensed officials to run events and to complete behind the scenes roles. Why not start to train as an official? Its not as daunting as you think. Most of the training is done on pool side at a pace that suites you. Join a Judge 1 course to see what it is all about. Questions? If you are a parent of a CASC swimmer and have an hour or two to spare each week please contact a member of the committee either on poolside or via the 'contact us' link above as we are always looking for help from committed parents. Support is welcome both on poolside and behind the scenes with club administration / management functions.
