CASC had 10 swimmers competing at the Wiltshire County Long Distance Championships on 9th January 2016, at Marlborough College Pool. They were;
Katie Butcher, Rachel Wrench, Amy Gibbons, Ella Parker, Michaela Sheppard, Tegan Cairns, Katharine Sheppard, Bryony Cairns, Luke Brown and Harrison Jones.
It was difficult for the swimmers having only just returned to training following the Christmas two week closure.

The girls swam the 800m freestyle event and the boys swam the 1500m freestyle event. The results were;
  • Amy Gibbons -  2nd in 13 year age group
  • Ella Parker - 3rd in 13 year age group
  • Katharine Sheppard – 1st in 16 year age group
  • Bryony Cairns – 2nd in 17/18 year age group
  • Tegan Cairns – 8th place Junior Champion
  • Harrison Jones – 1st in 17/18 year age group

Well done to all swimmers.

Newsflash

We need more licensed officials to run events and to complete behind the scenes roles. Why not start to train as an official? Its not as daunting as you think. Most of the training is done on pool side at a pace that suites you. Join a Judge 1 course to see what it is all about. Questions? Please ask Darren Hall or e-mail the club This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

If you are a parent of a CASC swimmer and have an hour or two to spare each week please contact a member of the committee either on poolside or via the 'contact us' link above as we are always looking for help from committed parents. Support is welcome both on poolside and behind the scenes with club administration / management functions.
